We understand

Life asks much of you.

Long hours. Constant decisions. The weight of responsibilities, professional and personal. A mind that rarely rests. A body that carries it all.

You're not looking for an escape. You're looking for a way to be more present, more capable, more at ease, within the life you've chosen.

What we offer is not

  • A workout class with candles and Sanskrit
  • A weekend retreat that changes everything
  • A reason to step back from your responsibilities

What we offer

A systematic, experiential process.

Classical Hatha Yoga as it was meant to be: transmitted with precision, practised with sincerity, integrated into daily life. Step by step. Beginning where you are.

Clarity

A mind that settles. Thoughts that organise. Decisions made from stillness, not reactivity.

Balance

A body that supports you. Energy that sustains through the day. Physical ease that becomes natural.

Stability

An inner anchor. The capacity to remain steady amidst change. A groundedness that others notice.

Shared Journeys

From our practitioners

My health has improved significantly and the mood is always uplifted when I keep on doing my practices every day. I had trouble sleeping at night, attention deficiency and many other chronic problems which just disappeared within 6 months of continuous Hatha yoga practices. I feel like I am reborn again.

An amazing four day session of Yogasanas. I had a great experience. One week of the practice itself gave a lot more understanding of the capability of my body. I got more flexibility and calmness just in a week.

What sets Souvik apart is his profound and authentic knowledge of the practices. Learning from him felt as if I were receiving instruction directly from the Isha Yoga Centre itself. His dedication to passing on the teachings as-is, without any distortion, ensured the integrity and potency of the practices. The benefits I have experienced are profound: tremendous health benefits and unparalleled mental clarity. My productivity at work has increased by an estimated 40%. Souvik is more than a teacher; he is a genuine guide who imparts timeless wisdom with authenticity and care.

You don't have to change your life
to change how you experience it.

If there's a quiet knowing that something more is possible, within you, within your days, perhaps it's time to explore.

Understanding

What is Hatha Yoga?

Beyond what popular culture has made of it: something far more fundamental, and far more relevant to how you live.

The word itself

Ha, the sun. Tha, the moon. Hatha Yoga is the science of bringing these two dimensions into balance. The active and the receptive. The masculine and the feminine. The logical and the intuitive.

This is not philosophy. It's a precise methodology for working with the human system: body, breath, mind, and energy, to create a state of inner alignment.

A technology, not a belief

Classical Hatha Yoga requires no faith, no belief system, no religious framework. It works because it's based on an understanding of how the human mechanism functions.

Like any sophisticated technology, it needs proper transmission and dedicated practice. The results are experiential: you feel the difference, you don't have to believe in it.

What Hatha Yoga is

A systematic process

Step-by-step practices that build upon each other, creating lasting change.

An inner technology

Tools for working with body, breath, and energy with precision and understanding.

Experiential, not conceptual

You practise, you experience, you know. No philosophy required.

Preparation for life

Making you more capable, more present, more effective, in everything you do.

What Hatha Yoga is not

Not exercise

While the body becomes stronger and more flexible, physical fitness is a byproduct, not the goal.

Not stress relief

Though stress dissolves, the practice addresses something more fundamental than symptoms.

Not performance

There are no Instagram moments to chase. Progress is internal, measured by how you experience life.

Why now? Why this?

Modern life fragments attention, depletes energy, creates chronic tension. The mind races, the body tightens, sleep becomes shallow, presence becomes rare.

These are not personal failures. They're predictable outcomes of how we're living.

Hatha Yoga offers a systematic way to reverse this, not by retreating from life, but by changing how your system responds to it. The same situations, experienced differently. The same responsibilities, carried with more ease.

You can begin where you are. With the life you have. With the body you have. Step by step.

The Teacher

Souvik Banerjee - Yoga Teacher

Sadhguru Gurukulam

Souvik Banerjee

Souvik's journey with yoga began over 11 years ago, not as a career choice, but as a personal exploration that gradually became central to how he lives. After years of dedicated practice, he undertook the rigorous training at Sadhguru Gurukulam, completing his certification as a Classical Hatha Yoga teacher over 4 years ago.

Training at Sadhguru Gurukulam

The Gurukulam is not a certification course. It is a period of intensive, immersive learning where practices are transmitted with precision, and the responsibility of teaching is established through years of dedicated personal practice. This training ensures that what reaches you is authentic, undiluted, and effective.

The role of a teacher

In this tradition, the teacher is not a guru to be followed, but a conduit for practices that have been refined over thousands of years. The emphasis is on the practice itself: its correctness, its suitability for you, and its proper integration into your life.

Teaching is approached as a responsibility: to transmit these practices accurately, to ensure they serve the student, and to maintain the integrity of the tradition.

What this means for you

  • Practices taught as they were learned, without modification or dilution
  • Attention to correct form, breath, and awareness: the details that matter
  • Personalised guidance based on your individual needs and situation
  • Guidance rooted in the tradition, not personal invention

"The practices are the teacher. The person offering them is simply responsible for ensuring they reach you correctly."

The Space

Yogastithi

Yogastithi Symbol

The meaning of the name

Yogastithi comes from Sanskrit, bringing together Yoga, meaning union, and Sthiti, which refers to a state of being or an established condition.

The name points to something essential: yoga is not merely an activity you do, but a state you establish within yourself. It is not confined to an hour of practice, but becomes a way of being that gradually permeates every aspect of your life.

The name reflects our intent: to help you establish yoga as a living reality within you, stable, integrated, yours.

This is what we work towards with each person who comes to us. Not a temporary experience, but an enduring shift in how you exist within yourself and move through the world.

Small by design

We work with small groups and give individual attention, ensuring each student receives the care and precision that proper transmission requires.

Consistency over novelty

We teach a focused set of practices well, rather than constantly adding new offerings. Mastery comes through depth, not variety.
